In 1918, the lake consisted of only a handful of bungalows and a club house, until 1978 when the existing community members pitched in to expand the community to 450 acres…. Present day Glen Wild was born.
Currently, there are 160 homes around the lake, most of them lakeside.
The Residents here call themselves Glen Wilders, and care deeply about their treasured environment.
Glen Wild lake is a total of 111 acres, surrounded by a state forest and 450 acres of private land, and only 25 miles from NYC, Glen Wild has gained a reputation of being a hidden gem tucked away in the Highlands of Northern, NJ.
During the summer, Glen Wilders enjoy things like boating, float-in movies and anchoring for a live jazz concert held on a dock. In the colder months, Wilders enjoy everything from ice fishing and cross country ski to hockey rinks and a local favorite, ice golf.
